Last year I finally did something which I had been considering for over a decade, and went to my local Truro dentist to have some veneers put in. For many years what worried me most about this was that it is a very final solution to fixing your smile, as your original teeth are shaved down, never to be seen again. After trying braces and teeth whitening procedures, I decided to finally put my money where my mouth was, and opt to have the veneers. I can honestly say that I have been over the moon with the results since last year, and I would recommend it to anyone, I thought I’d give you 5 reasons why I love the veneers, in case you are still on the fence about this.
The first thing to mention about these wonderful little additions to your mouth, is that they are perfectly white. Now you can decide just how white you want your teeth before the dentist places the veneers on, as after all, not everyone wants that cliched Hollywood smile. Because of the material that they use for the veneers, your color will stay forever, and they will never get stained.
I used to hate the shape of my teeth, they grew crooked since I was young, once the veneers were in however, instant perfection. Because of the fact that veneers are custom made, they fit perfectly in your mouth, don’t look out of place and most importantly, they look brilliant. If you don’t like the way that your teeth have grown, veneers can be a great option to get that fixed.
One of my concerns about veneers were that they would cost too much money but in retrospect I should’ve done it a long time ago. After adding up the money which I had spent on whitening my teeth and paid for braces and Invisalign, I might as well have paid for veneers from the outset. The cost of veneers has also come down a great deal in recent years, so they are well worth doing.
Naturally the first week that you have the veneers, they will feel very strange your mouth, which of course makes sense given that they are a foreign object. After just a week or two however, these will feel completely natural, and you will lose the fear that they will break when you eat. Even now these veneers feel like my very own teeth.
Feeling self-conscious when you smile is not good and it can do a lot to dent you confidence, this is just another reason why I love these veneers. The confidence which I have thanks to my smile has spilled out to other areas of my life, and they have been the source of great happiness.
