How to Ensure That You Are Ready For a Morning Workout

Working out in the morning is probably the best time of day for you to exercise. Not only does a morning workout give you more energy for the day ahead, but it is also one of the best times for you to open up your muscles and increase the impact which your cardio work will have. Whilst the morning may very well be the best time for you to workout, it is something that many of us struggle to do. Getting up and feeling like working out is something few of us will do but there are some steps which you can take to ensure that when you wake up, you get up and go.

Bathroom Alarm

If you have a drink of water before bed, it is more than likely that you will wake up with the urge to go to the bathroom, the perfect alarm clock. It is also a good idea to drink water when you first wake up as well so that you can give your body the kickstart that it needs.

Coffee

There is nothing at all wrong with a small cup of coffee in the morning to get you going and I always get the French press on the go from the moment that I wake up. Not only does a French press coffee maker give you some freshly brewed coffee in the morning and fill your home with a wonderful smell, but the activity itself of making the coffee can help to wake your brain up.

Wake Up With Nature

If you are able to, try to coincide the hour that you wake up with the same time as the sun rises and make sure that you have curtains and blinds open so that you can see it. Waking up to sunlight is the most natural way of waking up and the sunlight is also a signal to your brain that it is time to be awake and energetic.

Make a Date

Letting yourself down by not getting up is one thing, but doing it to someone else is something that nobody wants to do and with this in mind, try to make a morning workout date. If you have a pressing workout date with someone then you are going to be far more inclined to wake up and get going than if it is just you going alone. If you don’t have any friends who are up for it then enroll in a morning class instead, anything to put the pressure on you getting up.

Alarm Clock Rules

The snooze button is absolutely off limits for you if you want to get up and workout and you also need to ensure that the alarm is far away from your bed so that you have to get up and switch it off. In terms of the sound of your alarm, try to put some fun music on to wake you up instead of those dreadful alarm tones which will only serve to put you in a bad mood before you have even woken up.

Follow these tips and you will soon be a morning workout champion.
